How does lipo dissolve compare to mesotherapy?
Lipo dissolve utilizes a pharmaceutical compound called phosphatidylcholine deoxycholate (PCDC), which is administered through a series of micro-injections to permanently dissolve fat. Mesotherapy are injections composed of a cocktail of pharmaceuticals, including vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and medications.
Lipotherapy injections are placed in the mid-layer of subcutaneous fat, while mesotherapy injections are played at the hypodermis level. While lipo dissolve is used to dissolve fat deposits, mesotherapy is more commonly used for smoothing of the skin and skin rejuvenation. We do not offer mesotherapy.
How does the procedure work?
Our signature, non-surgical lipotherapy treatment is a pharmaceutical compound called phosphatidylcholine deoxycholate, or PCDC, which is administered through a series of micro-injections to permanently dissolve the fat.
Over time, fat cells expand where we least want them, around our middle, the buttocks, thighs, arms, or chin. To dissolve these pockets of fat, PCDC micro-injections are delivered into the targeted treatment areas. The fat cells absorb the PCDC and become slightly inflamed, then harden. The hardened fat cells break down within a few weeks leading to measurable inch loss. At this point, the fat cell no longer exists and has been permanently removed from the body. With multiple treatments, the end result is a smooth, natural look in the area that is treated.
How long do I have to wait between each treatment?
You have to wait at least four weeks between each treatment. Depending on your body type and physiology, the medical person treating you may recommend waiting a longer period of time between treatments.
How long does each treatment take?
Treatments take less than an hour, that's why people call it "lunchtime lipo."
How long will it take to see results? Will I be able to tell a difference right away?
Results vary with each person's body type and physiology. Some people start to see results after as few as two treatments, others not until their fourth treatment.
How many lipo dissolve treatments can I get?
We recommend that you treat only three areas at the same time, at a minimum of four week intervals. This depends on your lifestyle and what your tolerance is to the swelling and occasional bruising which can occur. The areas we treat include the back of the arms, the upper and lower abdomen, the chin and jowls, knees, upper and lower back, inner and outer thighs, buttocks, and love handles. We've seen tremendous results with men who have gynecamastia, or enlarged breasts.
How many treatments will I need?
Each person's anatomy and physiology is different. Most people fall into a two to four treatment range. We'll customize a program for you at the time of your free and private consultation.
Is it painful? Does it hurt?
There may be some localized discomfort upon injection, and a minor burning sensation immediately following the treatment. Swelling will occur in the treated area, and soreness and inflammation may be experienced for several days after treatment. In some cases, possible localized bruising may occur.
Is lipo dissolve safe?
We maintain the highest standards and treatment protocols to ensure the safety of our patients. PCDC micro-injections are always administered by trained and certified medical staff. PCDC has been used in various medical applications since the 1950s and has been utilized for cosmetic purposes since the mid 90s. No significant adverse affects attributable to the PCDC injections have been identified.
Is PCDC FDA approved?
PCDC is a combination of natural ingredients prepared for each patient by a state licensed compounding pharmacy. The ingredients have been used for a variety of medical purposes in the United States and have been used for decades in countries around the world. While the FDA has not yet examined PCDC therapy, patients and physicians continue to be pleased with the results when PCDC is properly used.
Is the procedure permanent? Will the fat stay away or return in other areas?
Each person is born with a certain number of fat cells (adipocytes) and after adolescence will not develop more. Lipo dissolve will dissolve fat permanently in the area of treatment, leaving only a thin layer of cells. If a person gains weight, the fat cells located in the non-treated areas (including the deep visceral fat) will naturally get larger. However, the area that was treated will remain unchanged. Because lipo dissolve is an investment in an improved body image, it is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle by watching your diet and exercising to avoid excess weight gain.
What is the downtime?
There's little or no downtime! That's the beauty of the lipo dissolve procedure, especially when you compare it to more invasive procedures such as liposuction and abdominoplasty. Normally, patients can resume their normal schedule immediately after injections. Some people experience tenderness which may require them to rest up a bit right after their treatment, but most of our patients pursue their normal activities. The minimal disruption is the reason most patients find this lipotherapy so attractive.
Will I have any dietary restrictions?
There are no dietary restrictions; however, you should watch your diet and maintain a healthy lifestyle to achieve maximum results.
Will I lose weight?
Lipo dissolve therapy is not intended for weight loss. While the procedure will dissolve fat in key trouble areas, the overall amount of weight lost is insignificant.
